Do you want your new article to reach readers who have chosen to follow your content? Amwaly allows you to create manual email campaigns for eligible subscribers, preview the audience and message before sending, calculate usage based on your membership benefits, and process sending requests through queues so your work is not interrupted while a large number of messages are being handled.
This guide explains the system from start to finish: the difference between website notifications and email, how visitors and registered users subscribe, how the platform verifies email addresses, how to create a campaign, why some people may appear under “Excluded,” and what an “Unresolved Result” means after sending.

What Are Email Campaigns on Amwaly?
An email campaign is a message manually launched by a writer to a group of readers who have subscribed to their updates and agreed to receive emails. You select a published article or an approved blog from your content, define the audience, review the preview, and then confirm the launch.
The system does not automatically send an email simply because an article has been published. Publishing an article may trigger an on-site notification for users who have enabled the notification bell, while email requires a separate manual campaign.
The system is designed to combine ease of use with protection for both readers and writers. For this reason, simply having an email address stored in the database is not enough. The address must be valid and verified, email consent must still be active, the account and address must not be blocked, and there must not already be another active sending attempt for the same subscriber.
The Difference Between Website Notifications and Email
When a reader clicks the notification bell, they see two independent options:
Website notifications: These appear to the user inside Amwaly when the writer publishes a new article, provided automatic notifications are enabled.
Email messages: These allow the writer to manually send campaigns to subscribers who have agreed to receive emails and meet the sending requirements.
Users can enable both options, enable only one, or disable either option at any time.
Disabling the notification bell does not cancel email subscriptions, and disabling email does not disable website notifications.
An unregistered visitor can subscribe by email only. Website notifications are tied to a registered account and require the user to be logged in.
How Does a Visitor or User Subscribe?
Visitor Email Subscription
The visitor opens the writer’s article or profile page and clicks the Subscribe or Bell button.
They enter a real email address they can access.
The platform sends a verification message containing a link and a six-digit code.
The visitor opens the link or enters the code in the subscription window.
After successful verification, the email subscription becomes active and eligible campaigns can reach that address.
The link and code verify ownership of the email address itself. They remain valid for the period shown in the verification message.
If the verification period expires or the maximum number of attempts is reached, the visitor must request a new verification message instead of using an old link.
Registered User Subscription
If a registered user has a valid and verified email address on their account, they can choose website notifications and email directly from the subscription window.
If the account was created through a social login provider and does not contain a real email address, or if the stored email is a generated value that cannot receive messages, the platform will require the user to add a real email address and verify it before email can be enabled.
The writer does not see the subscriber’s email address.
The writer can only see the subscription status and whether the subscriber is eligible to receive messages, while contact information remains protected within the system.
What Happens When an Email Address Is Changed or Consent Is Withdrawn?
Changing the email address or withdrawing consent increases the destination or consent version.
Any campaign that has not started yet rechecks the subscriber’s status. Any message currently being processed will not be sent to a destination whose identity has changed without a new verification.
Subscribers can stop receiving email from a specific writer by using the unsubscribe link inside the message, while their website notification preferences remain independent.
Who Can Create Email Campaigns?
Collecting subscribers and managing their preferences are available according to the platform’s settings, but creating and sending email campaigns depends on the “Emails to Subscribers” feature included in the current membership.
The administration configures the value of this feature from the membership management panel, so a fixed number should not be assumed for every plan.
| Feature Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
N or 0 | Campaigns are disabled for the membership, while subscriber collection remains available. |
| Number | The number of base messages available during the membership’s configured period. |
Y | Unlimited base messages according to account and sending policies. |
The period may be daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly depending on the administrator’s configuration.
The campaign dashboard displays the renewal date and available balance, so you do not need to memorize or estimate these values.
Base Limit and Additional Units Purchased With Points
The platform uses the membership’s base limit first.
If that limit is exhausted and the writer has additional units purchased with points, usage moves to those additional units according to the offer’s conditions.
These units are linked specifically to the email messaging feature. They do not grant publishing permissions or create a new membership.
If the feature is set to N, the ability to use purchased units depends on the “Allow Independent Purchase” option configured by the administrator.
When this option is disabled, purchased units do not unlock a feature that is disabled by the membership. The associated units remain saved and suspended until membership eligibility becomes available again.
No prices or point ratios should be assumed. The system displays the package cost and number of units according to the administration settings at the time of purchase.
Creating an Email Campaign Step by Step
1. Open the Campaign Area
From the publisher dashboard, open Email Campaigns, then select Create Email Campaign.
If the campaign option is not available, review your membership status and the Emails to Subscribers feature.
The presence of subscribers alone does not mean that sending is enabled.
2. Name the Campaign and Select the Content
The campaign name is used internally to organize your records and does not have to match the message subject.
Next, select a published article that you own or an approved blog.
Drafts and unpublished articles are not available for selection because the message must lead the reader to content that is publicly accessible.
3. Review the Audience
After selecting the content, the platform displays the number of matching results, the number of eligible subscribers, and the reasons for exclusion.
You can use the following filters:
All subscribers: Displays the group matching the campaign conditions.
Not previously sent to: Useful for a first campaign or for expanding reach.
Not sent to in the last campaign: Excludes subscribers who were accepted in the most recent reference campaign.
Sent to in the last campaign: Reviews the audience from the previous campaign.
Least contacted first: Helps distribute messages fairly among subscribers.
Longest time since last message: Gives priority to subscribers who have gone the longest without an accepted message.
You can also filter by subscriber type — registered account or email-only visitor — or by subscription channel.
You may search by name or username, select a page of results, or select all eligible subscribers and then exclude a limited number of people manually.
4. Prepare the Preview
Click Prepare Audience and Preview.
At this stage, the system locks a copy of the content and a snapshot of the audience and creates recipient records.
No emails are sent during the preparation stage.
Before continuing, review the article title, appearance, expected audience size, available balance, and exclusion reasons.
5. Launch the Campaign Manually
After reviewing the preview, enable the confirmation checkbox and click Confirm Campaign Launch.
The server rechecks the content status, audience eligibility, and available balance before creating the campaign run.
If consent, the email address, or membership status has changed, the system may exclude the recipient in order to protect both the reader and the account balance.
What Happens If the Audience Is Larger Than the Available Balance?
If the number of eligible subscribers is greater than the available balance, the campaign begins with only the number of messages that can currently be sent and places the remainder in a deferred state.
Messages that were not reserved are not deducted, and the shortage does not result in a negative balance.
After adding more balance or starting a new usage period, you can choose Send to Remaining Recipients, while excluding subscribers whose messages were already accepted and those who currently have an active sending attempt.
Reserved messages are displayed separately from consumed messages.
A reservation protects the balance during concurrent sending. It becomes consumed when the email provider accepts the message, or it is released if the attempt is rejected or stops before sending.
Why Are Campaigns Processed Through Queues?
The platform does not send all messages within the browser page request itself.
After launch, recipients are dispatched to background jobs, and the queue system and Horizon process them in batches.
This prevents page timeouts, keeps the publisher dashboard stable, and allows safe retries when the email provider experiences a temporary failure.
External email sending requires separate activation and correct server and email provider configuration.
A campaign showing a status such as “Ready” or “In Progress” does not mean every message has reached the recipient’s inbox. It means the system is managing the sending process according to the configured settings.
Understanding Recipient Statuses and Results
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Included in the locked audience | The recipient was selected in the campaign snapshot before launch. |
| Queued | The message has been reserved for delivery through a background worker. |
| Reserved or delivery started | A protected attempt exists or the delivery process has started. |
| Accepted by email provider | The transport provider reported that it accepted the message. This does not prove that the message was read or appeared in the inbox. |
| Confirmed bounce | The message was initially accepted, then documented bounce evidence was received. |
| Deferred | The message requires additional balance, an eligibility check, or manual completion. |
| Failed | Sending could not be completed after the allowed retry rules were exhausted. |
| Unresolved result | The connection was interrupted or timed out after transmission began, so the system cannot automatically prove whether the message was accepted or rejected. |
Why can “Unresolved Result” be zero?
This status is recorded only when a transmission attempt begins but its final result cannot be verified.
If the value is zero, it means the campaign run did not leave any unresolved delivery attempts. It does not mean that every message was read.
What does “Excluded: 0” mean?
It means that everyone who matched the selected filter when the audience was prepared was included in the locked audience, and the preparation stage recorded no exclusion reasons.
A person’s eligibility can still change after the audience is prepared, so the system checks eligibility again during reservation and sending.
Most Common Reasons for Exclusion
The subscriber did not consent to email or withdrew their consent.
The email address is unverified, invalid, or generated by a social login provider and does not represent a real receiving address.
The email address changed after the campaign audience was prepared and requires new verification.
The account or writer is suspended, or the address has been protected from further sending following a previous bounce.
The subscriber is still within the protection period between two messages from the same writer.
The same article has already been accepted for that subscriber.
No balance is available, or another sending attempt is currently in progress.
Privacy and Unsubscribing
Email addresses are private and are not shown to writers.
The platform uses consent and destination versions so that old links cannot remain active after an email address is changed or consent is withdrawn.
Each email contains a link that allows the subscriber to stop receiving messages from that writer. This does not change the subscriber’s website notification preference.
The system stores the reconciliation records required to determine what happened during sending, while the administration may apply a retention period to archived campaign details according to platform policy.
Do not send your password, wallet information, or unsubscribe link to anyone.
When contacting support, the campaign number or sending attempt number is sufficient.
Tips for a Better Campaign
Write a clear article title before launching the campaign. The message subject is taken from the selected content.
Use the Least Contacted or Longest Since Last Message filters so the same reader does not receive several messages in quick succession.
Review links and images on both mobile and desktop inside the preview.
Start with a small audience when testing a new article or message.
Check the reserved and available balance before launching, and do not launch a campaign larger than your available balance if you need the entire audience processed at once.
Do not promise readers that acceptance by the email provider means the message was read. The current measurement only confirms the provider-side delivery status.
If you stop a campaign, review deferred messages and manually launch a continuation after performing another review.
Frequently Asked Questions About Email Campaigns
Does Publishing an Article Automatically Send an Email?
No.
Publishing an article affects the content itself and website notifications for users who have enabled the notification bell.
Sending email requires a separate manual campaign where you select the content and audience and confirm the launch.
Can a Visitor Subscribe Without Creating an Account?
Yes.
A visitor can subscribe by email after proving ownership of the address using the verification link or code.
Website notifications require a registered account.
Can a User Enable the Notification Bell Without Enabling Email?
Yes.
The two channels are independent.
Users can enable website notifications only, email only, or both channels.
What Should I Do If My Social Login Email Is Invalid?
Add a real email address from your account settings and verify ownership.
Campaigns will not be sent to a generated or unverifiable address.
Can I Resend a Campaign to People Who Did Not Receive It?
Yes.
After reviewing the status and available balance, you can launch Send to Remaining Recipients.
The system excludes recipients whose messages were already accepted and those who currently have an active attempt.
Is a Message Deducted From My Balance If Sending Fails?
A reservation is created to protect the balance, then becomes consumed when the email provider accepts the message.
If the attempt is rejected or fails in a retryable state, the reservation is released according to the attempt status.
Does “Accepted by Email Provider” Mean the Reader Opened the Article?
No.
It only means that the transport provider accepted the message.
Amwaly does not treat this status as proof that the recipient read the email.
Why Can’t I Create a Campaign Even Though I Have Subscribers?
The Emails to Subscribers feature may not be enabled in your membership, external sending may be disabled, there may be no published content available, or your sending balance may be exhausted.
Check the balance card and the reason displayed in the campaign dashboard.
Do Additional Units Disappear When My Membership Renews?
Units purchased with points are not automatically deleted when the membership renews.
However, their use may temporarily stop if the feature requires an eligible membership and that membership is no longer available.
Can Writers See Their Subscribers’ Email Addresses?
No.
Writers can see their audience, eligibility statuses, and campaign history, while email addresses remain protected within the platform.
When Should I Contact Support?
Contact support if balance was deducted without a corresponding record, a reservation remains after the process has finished, an unresolved result requires provider evidence, or an email continues to be rejected after the address has been corrected.
Only provide the campaign number or sending attempt number.
Start Building Your Audience
Start with a useful article, enable the subscription box, and clearly explain the difference between the notification bell and email.
Once you have built an audience that has agreed to receive messages, open Email Campaigns, select the content, review eligible recipients and your available balance, and then launch the message from the publisher dashboard.
Following these steps keeps the relationship with your readers clear and ensures that every sending operation can be reviewed without accidental email delivery.
